Born to Charles Jackson and Mary Heard in 1989, Jaytotha3 is an American hip hop artist, songwriter & producer from Arkansas. The CEO of Get Paid Entertainment, Jay is also graduate of UAPB.
Deciding in 2013 to better his life and provide for his family, Jay set out to make a career in music & began working diligently on his breakout Mixtape, “Legend N My Own Time”. The project, set for release on 11/3/15, speaks to the young visionaries perspective on survival, life’s trials and tribulations as well as his struggle to remain vulnerable, perceptive & evocative in his art. “Legend N My Own Time” will be available for download on DattPiff, BandCamp, Soundcloud, Itunes & Spinrilla November 10, 2015 and will be followed up in early 2016 with Jays debut official album, “Immortal”.
Always drawn to rap, Jay cites artists like 2Pac, Jay-Z, Nas, Notorious B. I. G. ,Scarface, and Lil Wayne as his early influences. By 9 years old Jay, who got his stage name by combining his nickname “Jay” with “To tha 3” -representing completion & him being the 3rd child to his mother, started rapping & soon began to generate a buzz locally as a skilled lyricist. Jays story, very much reflected in his music, is one of struggle and perseverance. Drawing from his background of poverty and his teenage years spent stealing ,working odd jobs and dealing drugs in the inner city of Pine Bluff’s, he paints vivid pictures of his past experiences, purpose, and future aspirations.
